About the Authors This project was reported, written and produced by Jonathan Dube and Naresh Fernandes. All photographs were taken by them, except for a few. Jonathan Dube is a journalist who has worked for New York Newsday, the Hartford Courant and The New York Times. Naresh Fernandes traveled all the way from India just to work with Dube. It was worth it. "Where's the Beat?" was produced as a project of the New Media Workshop at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
